Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring.

We see photos of the finish of the steel cage match that ended in controversy because while Brock hit the floor first, Roman’s feet hit the floor first.

We see the tweet from the referee who admitted that he made a mistake.

Roman says he will not make any excuses because there is no need to. You have seen the footage and the tweet from the referee so you are looking at the real Universal Champion. Roman says he should be the Universal Champion but he is not . . . yet. A lot of you doubted him and a lot of you lost faith in him but Roman says he is a man of his word and he kept his word. He beat Brock Lesnar in the cage and that is why he won’t lose faith in himself.

Roman says he would say that to Brock’s face, but he is not here. Roman says he will turn his attention . . .

Samoa Joe is on the TitanTron and he says that he told Roman he would lose to Brock Lesnar and he lost. Joe says he will continue Roman’s downward spiral.

Jinder Mahal’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring with Sunil Singh.

Jinder says he cannot stand people who make excuses for his short comings. Jinder says that Jeff Hardy cheated and he is not complaining. You lost clean to Brock Lesnar and at Backlash you will lose to Samoa Joe. Tonight, you will lose to the Modern Day Maharaja. Your career is in the tubes and since Jinder is on Raw, he will flourish and he will raise the Universal Championship. Tonight, he will prove exactly why.

Sami Zayn’s music plays and he makes his way to the stage and the crowd goes crazy for their hometown hero.

Sami addresses the crowd in French. Sami wants to get down to business. You complain about the Greatest Royal Rumble, but due to an injury suffered at the hands of Bobby Lashley, he could not even go to the Greatest Royal Rumble. He suffered from vertigo, but he is feeling better tonight.

Why not fix that, in his home town, and he will take on Roman Reigns.

The other Quebec citizen on the Raw roster, Kevin Owens, makes his way to the stage to a huge ovation.

Kevin addresses the crowd in French as well. Kevin tells Sami, with all due respect, he knows that Sami can beat Roman Reigns. However, Kevin says tonight, the people want to see Roman Reigns versus Kevin Owens.

Kevin tells Roman the people are chanting yes because they like the idea. Jinder Mahal and Sami Zayn want a piece of Roman Reigns. Kevin suggests a coin flip but he doesn’t have a coin or something with three sides. How about a popularity contest. Kevin mentions all three options.

Reigns punches Owens and then Zayn, Singh, and Mahal attack Roman. Owens joins in for a four on one attack.

Bobby Lashley’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring. Lashley with punches to Zayn and Mahal. He goes after Owens and then it is another four on one situation.

Braun Strowman’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring to give some hands. Strowman pushes Zayn and Owens away and then he punches Mahal. It is another four on one situation but Lashley joins in and sends Owens to the floor. Strowman takes care of the other three. Zayn and Mahal are sent to the floor. Strowman with a press slam onto Mahal, Zayn, and Owens.

Match Number Four: Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns, and Bobby Lashley versus Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Jinder Mahal (with Sunil Singh)

Roman wants to start and he faces off with Mahal. Zayn would like to start the match so Jinder obliges. Owens decides to tag in before Zayn does anything to affect his vertigo. Owens tags Zayn back in. Roman blocks a punch and punches Zayn. Zayn with a kick but Roman sends Zayn to the floor. Zayn with a kick on the floor but Roman sends Zayn into the ringside barrier. Roman with an uppercut to Owens and then he hits a broad jump drop kick as we go to commercial.

Lashley with a back elbow and clothesline followed by a slam. Mahal with a knee and punches. Lashley with a clothesline and then he gets Mahal on his shoulders. Mahal gets to his feet and Zayn tags in. Zayn kicks Lashley and chokes him in the corner. Zayn sets for a suplex but Lashley counters into a neck breaker. Lashley with a clothesline and shoulder into the corner. Owens stops the delayed vertical suplex on Zayn with a kick.

Roman looks around and then he sets up for the Superman punch. Sunil distracts Roman and is brought into the ring. We go to commercial.

We are back and Zayn with a rear chin lock on Roman. Roman gets back to his feet and Zayn with a forearm. Roman with a punch and Zayn with a forearm. They go back and forth. WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar with Paul Heyman vs. Roman Reigns – Steel Cage Match

Heyman did the big ring introduction for Brock.

It’s pinfall, submission or escape.

They circled each other and Brock caught Roman and snapped him with a series of German suplexes. The storyline the announcers were telling, especially Corey Graves, was that Brock had Roman’s number. Lesnar nailed another one, then snapped Roman with a F5. Roman made a comeback with a series of Superman punches and went for a spear. Brock caught him but Reigns grabbed the cage and almost scaled over the cage but Lesnar grabbed his chest protector and pulled him out. Lesnar scaled the cage but was pulled down by Roman. Brock did not look like he was confident being up there. Roman pulled him down into a powerbomb out of the corner.

Roman and Brock struggled to get to their feet as they showed Samoa Joe watching from backstage. Roman rammed Brock into the cage. He did it again and Lesnar bounced off the steel. Reigns nailed a spear and set up for another. He nailed another spear. Roman hit the trifecta, but Lesnar kicked up at two.

Roman called for the door to be opened and went to walk out of the cage, but Heyman did his best Terry Gordy and slammed it on Roman. Lesnar slammed Reigns and scored a two count. Heyman opened the cage door and slid a steel chair into the ring for Lesnar. Brock grabbed it but before he could utilize it, Reigns speared him again for another two count.

Roman smashed Lesnar across the back and then across the side. Reigns continued beating the Universal Champion down. Reigns drilled another Superman Punch. Reigns speared Lesnar into the cage. The cage broke. Lesnar crashed down with Roman atop of him. The referee ruled that Lesnar hit the floor first.

Your winner and still WWE Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar!

The show starts with a graphic in memory of Bruno Sammartino and the roster is on the stage for a ten bell salute and a video package.

Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar make their way to the ring.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Paul Heyman clears his throat before introducing himself and his client through the boos in St. Louis. Paul says he supposes you are bestowing you with your anger because you think he is going to come out here and gloat, don’t you? You think he is out here to say he told you so. You thought they were out here to say that just like Brock conquered the Undertaker’s undefeated streak, just like when Brock Lesnar took John Cena to Suplex City, just like every single time some wannabe tough guy who doesn’t understand when it comes to Brock Lesnar that this is real, just like not one member of that locker room stands any more of a chance than any of the wannabe tough guys in attendance tonight, just like he keeps telling you he does not make predictions, he presents spoilers he will not be gloating.

Paul says Brock Lesnar does not gloat. Brock Lesnar conquers. Paul Heyman gloats all night long. Paul gloats over the fact that Brock used non-PG era elbows to scar up Roman’s face. Paul gloats that Brock took Roman to Suplex City. Paul gloats that Brock hit multiple F5s on Roman to put Roman out to the trash heap. None of this means anything to Brock Lesnar. Brock Lesnar does not dwell on the past, even when the past is only two weeks ago at Wrestlemania. Brock looks forward to the future, especially when the future is this Friday in Saudi Arabia at the Greatest Royal Rumble. When Brock Lesnar, so crazed to be in a UFC, he will get on a private jet and fly across the world to travel to Saudi Arabia to be locked insideof a cage with Roman Reigns.

Paul asks if being in a cage was Roman’s idea? Paul says he is going to smarten everyone up. Brock pinned Roman and WWE had no choice so Roman signs a big, fat beautiful contract with a raise that Brock earned by beating Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania. WWE goes to Brock and says we need the Universal Title defended in Saudi Arabia. Brock said that Roman is breathing so he wants Roman in a fight for the title in a steel cage. You think this is to Roman’s advantage? The odds are more stacked against Roman on Friday. That is not a fact, it is a spoiler.

Brock is going to shred Roman Reigns, piece by piece and limb from limb. Brock will come back as Universal Champion while Roman comes back in many boxes as the victim of the . . .

Roman Reigns’ music interrupts and he makes his way to the stage and then he goes to ringside.

Roman enters the ring and he stares down Brock.

Roman says that Paul is right. He does not know how he is getting back, but he tells St. Louis that he is coming home with that title. You can believe that.

Roman drops the mic and his music plays.

We are back and Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring.

Roman looks around and he says he is here but Brock Lesnar isn’t. Once again, he is going to face Brock Lesnar. It is not going down like it was at Wrestlemania because they are going to be in a steel cage. He will leave Brock in the cage and he will return to Raw as the Full Time Universal Champion. Since tonight is the Superstar Shake Up . . .

Samoa Joe interrupts and he makes his way to the stage.

Joe tells Roman you come out here and you are so quick to brag that you show up for work. Joe says you don’t brag about getting the job done. The fact is you haven’t got the job done and you never will. You talk about this cage match and you are going to become a champion. You are not getting in the ring with a normal superstar. You are getting in there with a beast who has beaten you every time you stepped into the ring with him.

Joe says he almost feels sorry for Roman but he does not know his place around here. You won’t learn until someone puts you down for good. Joe says he comes bearing that sweet mercy. When Brock is done with you in the cage, Joe will put the Big Dog to sleep once and for all. Since you have some bass in your voice, Joe wants to remind Roman of what Brock has done to him and what Joe will do to him.

Roman says that is everything that Brock has done, so why don’t you come down here to see what your lazy fat ass can do.

Joe makes his way to the ring but Joe stops at the bottom of the ramp and decides to go back up the ramp. Joe stops at the top of the ramp and he throws his towel down and goes to the ring, but Joe says he will see Roman at Backlash on his time.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring.

Roman looks around and he sees the Wrestlemania sign. Roman says he is a man of his word and he said he would win the Elimination Chamber and he did. When he says he is going to Wrestlemania and he can beat Brock Lesnar, he is telling the truth. The truth is a funny word. He says he doesn’t know why he is covering for this guy. Roman says the truth is that Brock Lesnar is not here tonight. Up until about 30 minutes ago, he thought Brock was going to be here but he didn’t show. Nobody will say this back there, but Roman will say it. Brock is an entitled piece of crap who hides behind his contract.

We are six weeks from Wrestlemania and the Universal Champion is not here. Last night, we were in Las Vegas and Brock was there, but he was not at the Elimination Chamber. He was taking pictures with Dana White. Brock does not respect any of you and he does not respect anyone in the back. Roman says they go all over the world and bust their ass but Brock shows up only when the money is right or the city is right. It does not matter how big the town is, Roman says he will be there because he said he will be there.

Brock and Paul will come out and say they are businessmen, but Roman says he was born in this business. He says he was taught at any early age that there is a fine line between business and respect. Roman says he does not respect Brock Lesnar and he does not fear that bitch.

Roman says he is done speaking and he will go to the back to take his ass chewing like a man because he respects this place.

Most Superstars don’t survive their first trip to Suplex City. Roman Reigns just booked himself a return visit.

The Big Dog prevailed in the first-ever Seven-Man Elimination Chamber Match to punch his ticket to his first one-on-one showdown with Brock Lesnar since his ill-fated WWE Title Match at WrestleMania 31, though this time he’ll challenge for the Universal Championship at The Showcase of the Immortals. Reigns’ carried him past the cream of Raw’s crop. Each of the seven competitors in the historic Men’s Elimination Chamber Match had all the motivation in the world to carry them to WrestleMania, but The Big Dog wanted it just that much more.

The Miz, looking to bring the Intercontinental Championship to the main event of The Show of Shows, entered the Chamber as one of the first entrants due to a loss to John Cena. Despite the handicap, the Intercontinental Champion proved to be the canniest competitor of the bunch. From trying to Too-Sweet Finn Bálor into an alliance (not being one of “The Bbbbbbboys,” he was swiftly denied) to picking whatever bones he could, Miz seemed as though he would manage to outwit his way into The Show of Shows — until he was eliminated first by Braun Strowman via a Running Powerslam.

Elias, who won the right to enter the Chamber last, was buzzed in moments after Miz was tossed and quickly locked himself back into his pod, refusing to emerge until the field had seemingly taken itself out. Looking to drift his way to the biggest performance of his life, Elias sprinted in when his opponents were all depleted and blatantly tried to take advantage of whoever was most vulnerable. It seemed like he, too, might steal one — until he was eliminated second by Braun Strowman.

John Cena, the lion in winter whose uncertain path to WrestleMania had clouded his mind with a must-win mentality, made a point of seeking out Seth Rollins (more on him in a second) and threw himself headlong into the fray. However, he was never quite in the thick of it, and he was eliminated third by Strowman. (In a post-Chamber interview on Raw Talk, he hinted at a “plan” to get to The Show of Shows that involved him crossing some unspoken locker-room lines, though he did not elaborate.)

Bálor, fighting with all his heart to win back the title that he never lost, started the match with Miz and Rollins and ended up stepping directly to Strowman as the field began to thin. Unfortunately, the continuing presence of Reigns and Rollins kept forcing The Extraordinary Man to stop his onslaught short, and one particular digression — a Coup de Grâce to Reigns — left him open to the fourth elimination of the match, once again by Strowman.

Rollins, coming off a record-setting performance on Raw that made him the overwhelming sentimental favorite in the Chamber, truly backed up his desire to become “The Man” again, partially by displaying the ruthlessness that got him there in the first place. Rollins formed a tentative alliance with Reigns that he dissolved the second he got the chance, booting The Big Dog in the face and stepping to Strowman, once again, by himself, though he was the fifth man eliminated by Strowman, yet again by way of Running Powerslam.

As for Strowman, he was the unquestioned MVP of the match as far as eliminations were concerned. Every ousting besides his own was achieved by These Hands, and despite having suffered an array of finishing maneuvers from everybody else in the match, The Monster Among Men seemingly had Reigns right where he wanted him. The exhausted Big Dog ended up using Strowman’s own aggression against him, olé’ing The Gift of Destruction through one of the pods and administering a rapid combination of three Superman Punches and two titanic Spears to finally put down The Monster Among Men.

Unfortunately for Reigns, Braun didn’t stay down. The Big Dog couldn’t even enjoy his victory before Strowman roared back to life, flattening Reigns with a pair of Running Powerslams and a trip through the pod. The attack caused Reigns to be carried backstage, but he had recovered by the time Raw Talk came around to promise closure and redemption come WrestleMania. It’s far from an empty boast: Given Reigns’ skill and how close he came the first time, we know he has the ability to beat Brock Lesnar. The only question that remains is whether he will.

The Emperor Defeated! Lately, Roman Reigns has fought tooth and nail to defend his Intercontinental Championship. Title defense after title defense, Reigns proved to be stronger than ever. There was one problem. The Miz returned. The Miz has been sending out messages that soon he’ll have his Intercontinental Championship back. He wanted his rematch. Reigns gave him his rematch. Can Roman continue to defend the title successfully?

From the beginning of the match to the end, Roman had to deal with the Miztourage. They would make Roman work three times as hard to keep the offense going. A Superman Punch did not prevent a Reigns from losing the title. It took a little cheating to do it. This is not the end for Roman. He can look forward to regaining the top title.

WWE.com has more on this historic night and Roman’s valiant effort below.

For a long time now, The Miz has delivered on his promises where the Intercontinental Championship is concerned. Raw 25 proved to be no different, as The A-Lister defeated Roman Reigns to begin an eighth reign with what is fast becoming his signature championship just hours after declaring for the Men’s Royal Rumble Match.

At first, however, it was all Reigns, who bounced Miz around the ring with impunity in a match he was dedicating to his cousin, Yokozuna. The Miztourage once again paid dividends for The Miz, giving The Awesome One the opening to turn the tide by throwing Reigns into the steel steps, aggravating The Big Dog’s shoulder in the process.

Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel proved persistent enough in their interference to get themselves thrown out by the referee, though not before they clambered onto the apron one last time, opening the door for Miz to hit a distracted Reigns with a Skull-Crushing Finale. Reigns kicked out, but when he whiffed on a Spear and went face-first into a turnbuckle that Miz had discreetly unbuckled earlier in the match, a second Skull-Crushing Finale was enough to put him down for the 1-2-3.

So Miz is champion again, and that several former Raw General Managers — John Laurinaitis, Eric Bischoff and William Regal — were in the building to witness Miz’s triumph was a treat. That Miz’s nemesis, current SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan, was among them, was the cherry on top.

Welcome to WWE Monday Night Raw. There is a recap video of last week’s episode of Raw. Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring. After all of his attacks and after all of his hype, you would think that Samoa Joe would have been ready. When it was time to put up or shut up, Joe was silenced. That is why he is still champion. It isn’t because he is better than Joe, he was fighting for a purpose. He was fighting for Dean Ambrose. Roman says he has a message for everyone. If you mess with any member of the Shield, you mess with all of us. That was last week and it is this week. Jason Jordan interrupts and makes his way to the ring.

Jason says when he watched Roman’s match last week, he got goosebumps. For the first time, he felt like he was part of something meaningful. Roman was right, when you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us. Jason says on behalf of his partner Seth Rollins, you proved that this is your yard. Jason wants to thank Roman. Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring. Seth says he appreciates Jason, but he has a lot to learn. Last week, you learned about teamwork. This week, you have to work on your timing. You are stepping on Roman’s moment.

Jason says this is everyone’s moment. Jason says they all had issues with Samoa Joe and Roman took care of it. Jason says they took care of the Bar. They are all champions and they run the show.

Roman says that Jason teams with Seth and Roman says that he is The Guy. Jason says they might not be the Shield, but they are pretty good. They might be the most dominant three man group in WWE. Finn Balor, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson make their way to the stage.

Finn says that Jason is excited to be part of something big, but are you really part of the most dominant three man group in WWE? Finn says he was running with Gallows and Anderson for ten years before you knew that Kurt Angle was your dad. Karl says that they have run with Finn for a long time and you can see it on the WWE Network.

Luke says they knew it was time to stand alone when Finn showed up. They won the tag titles. Finn was the first Universal Champion. Karl says they knew that they would get back together and take over that place. Finn says that day was last Monday. Finn says they are excited too because 2018 is the Year of Balor Club. Jason says he is happy to be part of the Champions’ Club.

Hounds vs The Unicorns! The Shield has made their return in their first pay per view in a very long time. The Shield debuted at Survivor Series five years ago. This match is a dream match of sorts and puts Raw against SmackDown. The Hounds dominated in 2012 – 2013 and since then have held award winning careers as solo competitors. Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins have nothing to prove as a team. What they want is to make sure The New Day knows that there is one team that is more dominant and stands tall above the rest… The Shield.

This match showed a lot of strength. Big E knocked Roman down, Roman got back up. Vise versa. The Shield has their work cut out for them. Roman Reigns serves up the legendary Samoan Drop. There is a lot of trash talking between the two teams. New Day takes over, Roman and Seth try to rally Ambrose. Ambrose hits a Missile Drop. Ambrose tags in Rollins. This match will set the tone for the entire show. Reigns tags in, hits Woods with a lariate. Woods kicks out. Roman sets up for a Superman Punch, but Xavier blocks it. Woods gets distracted and Roman hits the Superman Punch. All competitors are in the ring. Rollins and Woods are legal. Ambrose dirty deeds Woods for a two count. The match heads outside. New Day singles Reigns on the outside and takes him out of the match. Roman senses his brothers are in trouble and hits Big E with a SPEAR! Reigns tags in. ALL COMPETITORS ARE IN THE RING AND ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE!! Kofi and Reigns are legal. Reigns hits a distracted Kingston with a SPEAR! Roman tags in Rollins and Rollins tags in Ambrose. Reigns climbs to the top rope. WHAT!? TRIPLE POWERBOMB!!! Rollins covers Kingston for the win. Here is more from this world wind of a match, check out WWE.com’s review of this epic match.

Five years after The Shield’s debut, Raw Superstars Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose proved that they’re still the most dominant trio in WWE, defeating SmackDown LIVE’s The New Day in the opening match of Survivor Series 2017.

A sold-out crowd packed inside Houston’s Toyota Center witnessed a dream match that set the visceral tone for the rest of the night’s head-to-head battles for brand supremacy. In the early goings, it was Ambrose — a Superstar more than accustomed to absorbing massive amounts of bodily harm — who sustained the most damage as Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston & Big E isolated The Lunatic Fringe and hit him with two successive Unicorn Stampedes and a massive Big E spear through the ropes and to the floor. However, neither Ambrose nor his Shield brothers would stand down in defense of the red brand.

Faced with an unrelenting trio of foes, The New Day was forced to get even more creative than usual. As Ambrose lay supine on the canvas — once again separated from his then-incapacitated Shield brothers — Kingston climbed to the top rope, Woods hoisted E onto his shoulders, helping The Dreadlocked Dynamo leapfrog over his New Day allies for a punishing splash onto Ambrose. For good measure, Big E leapt onto The Lunatic Fringe himself, crushing Ambrose’s ribs with his 285-pound frame.

When an exhausted Rollins attempted to intervene, E scooped up Rollins and Ambrose, hitting the former Raw Tag Team Champions with a double Midnight Hour that seemed to seal the victory for The New Day and SmackDown LIVE. Enter: The Big Dog.

Returning to the fray after being laid out at ringside, Reigns hit Big E with a thunderous Spear that made landfall on top of the pin attempt, breaking the count. A brawl between both frustrated factions ensued, and a Spear to Kingston led many to believe that The Shield’s signature Triple Powerbomb was on the horizon. Reigns, however, had other ideas, going up to the middle rope instead of getting into his usual position for the move. Ambrose and Rollins got the message, and the reunited Hounds of Justice ended the dream match in nightmarish fashion for Kingston, who suffered an impressive (and impactful) Super Triple Powerbomb. Ambrose scored the pinfall over Kingston, and Raw stood triumphant.

After weeks of sieges and psychological warfare, it was The Shield who scored Raw’s first victory over SmackDown LIVE at Survivor Series. Believe that.
