Hounds Of Justice! Last week on Raw, Roman came out to interrupt The Miz and The Bar. He said “Who said anything about a rumor?” Soon after Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins joined him. They made their way to the ring in Shield fashion, attacking Miz, Sheamus & Cesaro. Kurt Angle made a historic match with Miz and The Bar facing The Shield at TLC.

Moments after the historic match was made, The Shield was back to their old ways, attacking Braun Strowman. Strowman laid waste to each member of The Shield. This was payback. Noting that Dean said that it didn’t matter how many people they had to go through, Angle added Braun Strowman to the match.

Tonight on Raw, The Shield interrupted Kurt Angle. Roman said Kurt can either go on his own or he can get thrown out. The Shield said that after 5 years3.5 years, they were back and better than ever. They don’t want to wait until Sunday, let’s fight right here and now.

Kurt Angle says no. He also states that the ringside will be cleared. Also if Braun Strowman loses, he is out of the match Sunday. If Strowman wins, The Miz and crew can add a person to their team.

The steel cage match gets off to a huge start as both Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman Show their incredible strength. From using the steel cage as a weapon to using the ring, both competitors had something they were fighting for. When it seemed to go in Roman’s favor of winning the match, The Bar, not taking being banned from ringside, showed up to lend a hand to the 7 foot tall Strowman. Right on their tails, Ambrose and Rollins show up. Their fight takes over and cameras follow them to the back. No one knows what happened during the two minutes that the cameras were on the backstage area. Back in the ring, Roman gave Braun everything he had including three Superman punches. Out of nowhere Kane appears and chock slams Reigns three times and power drives him into the ring. Having Kane on their side, allows Miz and his crew to take the upper hand for now. The Shield is one of the greatest factions of this era, so we will have to wait and see if they can overcome the odds. For more in-depth highlights and coverage from tonight, check out WWE.com ‘s coverage below.

The Shield may have formalized their reunion last week with their trademark fist bump, but for the first time in three years, Raw opened with the crackle of “Sierra, Hotel, India… ” and the sight of Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns donning black and marching through the audience to surround someone in the ring — in this case, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle, who quickly turned over the mic and made his exit.

It was awesome (as the WWE Universe chanted), and if there were any concerns that The Hounds of Justice had lost a step, they immediately launched into a scorched-earth proclamation to pick up right where they left off at WWE TLC. And even though Ambrose’s tough talk inadvertently got Braun Strowman added to the upcoming TLC Match last week, The Lunatic Fringe only doubled down on his resolve — he reiterated that The Shield could take on any number of opponents and challenged their TLC foes to throw down on the spot.
The Miz, Braun Strowman and The Bar came to the stage to oblige, but Angle got between the two squadrons, reminding them that The Bar would challenge Ambrose & Rollins for the Raw Tag Team Titles and Strowman would battle The Big Dog in a Steel Cage Match tonight. It was enough to stop the fists from flying, but there’ll be no such restraint on anyone’s part come Sunday.

Raw General Manager Kurt Angle banned The Miz, The Bar and The Shield from ringside to prevent outside interference and preserve the integrity of Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman in a Steel Cage, a match that would determine the complexion of the big TLC Match on Sunday. But he didn’t say anything about inside interference, and now Strowman’s victory expands The Shield’s opponents from four to five as a result.

To be fair, the rival teams ignored Angle’s initial decree as well, rushing the cage despite the General Manager’s orders. The Miz’s crew struck first, with The Bar cutting Roman off at the pass when he tried to escape the cage after momentarily felling Strowman. The Shield quickly neutralized the interference, but The Monster Among Men hauled Reigns over the cage right into a superplex, and when the brawl between The Shield and The Bar continued into the parking lot, Miz himself locked them out of the arena by closing the door of the loading dock.

Reigns managed to fight his way back into contention by hitting Strowman with three Superman Punches and a Spear, but the tide quickly turned when the arena plunged into red light and Kane rose from beneath the ring to administer two bone-rattling chokeslams to the former WWE Champion. Strowman followed up with a Running Powerslam, The Big Red Monster piled on with a Tombstone, and a second Running Powerslam from The Gift of Destruction earned the decisive pinfall and expanded his squadron by one for Sunday in the process. And, as Miz informed the WWE Universe, in case that wasn’t enough of a hint, The Devil’s Favorite Demon was, indeed, his final teammate for WWE TLC.

Dean Ambrose said The Shield could take on five opponents and win. The Hounds of Justice are about to be put to that exact test.

Emperor Uncrowned! Roman Reigns has been dealing with several thorns as of late. The Miztourage. The Miz and Miztourage think that they are The New Shield. Last week Roman Reigns was granted a shot for the Intercontinental Championship. Roman knows that he will have to disable The Miztourage first. Did Roman Reigns get crowned or did The Miztourage find a way to tear down the Empire? After the match, The Miztourage began to assault and take down Roman Reigns. After Raw went off air, Roman was seen nursing his injuries in the locker room. He was then visited by the tag Team Champions Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. Nothing was said between the three, so that leaves us to wonder have The Shield reunited? Here is what WWE.com had to say about tonight’s match.

The Miz has demanded respect for months now, but the Intercontinental Champion aping The Shield with his squad might have been a bridge too far. After he and The Miztourage mimicked The Shield’s entrance through the crowd (one week after doing the fist bump, mind you) before his title match with Roman Reigns, The Big Dog snapped, obliterating Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel with a steel chair before the match could start.

Miz, impressively, nearly finagled his way to a count-out win in the ensuing title bout, even reversing the Superman Punch into a Skull-Crushing Finale, but Reigns would not be denied. He kicked out of Miz’s big move and clocked him with a Superman Punch, but Cesaro & Sheamus quickly interfered before Reigns could uncork a Spear on The A-Lister.

“The Bar” — whom Reigns had less-than-flattering words for after their beatdown of his old allies Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins — worked in perfect sync with Miz to decimate Reigns, feeding him into each other’s signature moves (Neutralizer, Brogue Kick, Skull-Crushing Finale) before administering The Shield’s final signature, the Triple Powerbomb, to Reigns.

Ironically, while Reigns licked his wounds at the very end of Raw, he received a pointed visit from Ambrose and Rollins, who wordlessly stood by The Big Dog’s side in solidarity. The Miz has been asking all along if The Shield could hang with today’s WWE, three years after they imploded. He might get his answer yet.

We go to the ring and out comes Roman Reigns to a mixed reactions.

Reigns stops and takes in all the noise. Reigns gives John Cena props as being one of the best talkers but says sometimes he says stupid shit, like that Reigns tries to be the next Cena. Reigns says he doesn’t look like a jacked up white guy with a buzzcut because if he did he wouldn’t have a career here. If you don’t believe him, ask Alex Riley. Reigns goes on and calls Cena the biggest hypocrite to step in a WWE ring and if you don’t believe him, Cena will tell you himself. Reigns shows us footage from February 2012 with Cena dissing The Rock for being a part-timer for Hollywood.

Reigns asks the crowd if we should bring Cena out. He tells them to get louder. He’s afraid that won’t be loud enough because Cena isn’t here tonight. Reigns says No Mercy will be just like that WrestleMania but it will be a different Samoan beating Cena. Reigns goes on and drops the mic after knocking Cena for being a movie star. Reigns greets some fans at ringside before making his way up the ramp.

Even by Roman Reigns’ standards, the last two weeks have been almost unbearably difficult. Not only did the former WWE Champion suffer a brutal attack at the hands of Braun Strowman, he suffered the loss of his brother, Matt “Rosey” Anoa’i. Despite this, however, Reigns will still compete against Strowman at WWE Payback this Sunday, and he spoke with WWE.com to discuss the well-wishes he’s received, how his family is holding up and whether he thinks he’s up to facing The Monster Among Men this Sunday at all.

WWE.COM: It’s been a tough two weeks for you personally and professionally. On the personal side, WWE.com sends its condolences to your family. How are you doing and how is everyone else doing?

ROMAN REIGNS: Right now, it’s one of those situations where it’s a lot of mixed feelings. When you live in a big family, it’s always great to be able to come together, but to have to come together to send off a brother — and not only was he my brother, but in our family, even when you’re cousins, we’re all so close that we feel like brothers. That’s the type of connection we have in our family. It was an extremely sad weekend, and it’s still really tough. Everybody’s grieving. But to see our family come together and have a hundred-plus family and friends come together to celebrate my brother’s life really meant a lot. It just continually picks up our family and keeps us moving on.

WWE.COM: Obviously, as you just stated, you have your family around you. Can you talk about some of the support you’ve received from the WWE Universe and other Superstars during this time?

REIGNS: It’s crazy because it almost felt like Christmas times three. I don’t think I’ve ever received so many text messages from family and friends, especially within the company. So many guys in our locker room have reached out to me and sent their condolences and told me if there’s anything I need, don’t hesitate. I truly believe that. And talking to some of my family, that’s not just a saying. That’s real life. They want to do anything they can, whether it’s sending flowers, checking on me to try and talk, try and get down here to help out with any different thing we have to do with the services of a funeral. It’s really nice to be able to hear from all them. And, of course, through your social media, and Twitter is my main source of that, I’ve been overwhelmed with so many prayers and so many thoughts out there by my fans in the WWE Universe. Whether you’re a Roman Reigns supporter or a critic, everybody seems to understand the magnitude of the situation, and when it comes down to it, it’s a part of life but I think everybody gets it. Everybody’s been very sweet and really come to try and help me through this hard time. It really has helped.

WWE.COM: Well, once again, we’d like to reiterate our sentiment. We wish your family the best during this hard time.

REIGNS: Thank you. I just want to thank everybody who’s reached out. All my fans, everybody has been so supportive. This is a tough time but like everything in life we can learn from it and get better from it. My only hope now is that I can continue to represent my family and represent my brother and continue to push our legacy. He was my number one fan. He never missed a match, he never missed anything I did in the ring, he always had great advice for me and always reached out to talk. Payback and 2017 and any chance I get to go in that ring I’m representing him.

WWE.COM: Speaking of which, last time we saw you on Monday Night Raw was the incident at the hands of Braun Strowman with the ambulance. How are you feeling as you recuperate from that attack?

REIGNS: Physically, I’m as beat up as I am emotionally. This has been two of the roughest weeks of my professional career and life. I’ve never experienced a loss this close since it’s my only blood brother, but I’ve also never experienced a beatdown like Braun Strowman gave me. It’s unfortunate, because whatever point he’s trying to get across, he’s handling it the wrong way. And whether he thinks he’s a monster or not, I’m the top dog, I’m the big dog in this yard. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I already took out the greatest legend of all time. If anybody should be worried, it should be Braun Strowman. He’s got a whole storm that’s about to come his way.

WWE.COM: It was obviously announced that you will still face Braun Strowman at WWE Payback. Are you up to the challenge to face him on Sunday?

REIGNS: I’m beaten, I’m bruised, I’m hurt inside, but it comes down to the big fight. That’s what I do. When I step in that ring and my opponent steps in that ring and that bell goes ding, ding, I’m the one that holds it down. I’m the one that shows it’s my yard. I don’t have to jump people in the backstage, I don’t have to blindside people, I’ll face Braun eye-to-eye and put Braun down where he belongs because I’m the best in the WWE, I’m the best in the whole world, and at Payback this Sunday, I’ll show it.

Braun Strowman makes his way to the ring.

Braun says you brought the paperwork and the table.  Your work is done here so leave . . . or else.

Mick says he knows this is a big career moment for Braun, and his time on Raw might be limited.  However, Braun will respect what he has to say.

Braun says he would have stood next to Mick and respected him, when he was competition.  He says Stephanie is right that Mick is pathetic.  He is giving Mick the respect that a broken down suburban dad deserves.

Mick says he is sick of being treated this way.  You may not respect him as he is now.  You respect him as a legend.  You will learn to respect him . . . or else.

Strowman knocks the mic out of Foley’s hand and . . .

Roman Reigns’ music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

Braun stands on the floor and Reigns kicks Strowman.  Strowman sends Reigns over the ring steps but Reigns with a Superman punch off the ring steps.  Reigns goes for another Superman punch but Strowman catches Roman and sends Roman into the ring post.  Strowman sends Roman into the crowd.  Strowman with punches.  Strowman sends Roman into the sound equipment. Reigns with a punch and he slams Strowman’s head into the dasher boards.  Roman with a Superman punch off the aisle and then he hits a spear through the barricade and a member of security.

Roman goes into the ring and he gets ready to sign the contract and Strowman asks if that is all you got.  Roman with another Superman Punch.  Strowman grabs Roman and he sends Roman into the corner and the top turnbuckle comes off the ring post.

Strowman walks up the ramp as Reigns is tended to by the officials.  Roman gets up and he signs the contract.

We’re live from Portland as Michael Cole welcomes us. He’s joined by Corey Graves and Byron Saxton.

We go right to the ring and RAW General Manager Mick Foley waits with RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. The ring is set up for a contract signing. Foley welcomes us but he doesn’t seem happy. He hopes Triple H agrees with this because he does not. Foley welcomes Samoa Joe and out he comes in a suit.

Stephanie says Mick must be under the weather or something. She re-introduces Joe, calling him the hottest free agent of the new era. Stephanie hypes Joe up and he gets a mixed reaction. Stephanie wonders why Foley is against Joe coming in. Stephanie insults Foley again. Foley says he’s been a big fan of Joe, he just doesn’t agree with how he came in or the people he’s associating himself with. Stephanie steps to the side and Joe takes the mic.

Joe says it took him 18 years to be standing in this ring right now. Joe says in those 18 years, when Foley claims to be such a big fan, only one man opened the door and gave him an opportunity, and if loyalty to that man means coming out and putting Seth Rollins on the shelf – so be it. Joe puts the whole RAW locker room on notice: he will come out night after night, he will beat up our heroes, choke them out and beat them up again when they wake up. Joe says The Destroyer has arrived and there’s nothing we can do about it. Joe signs his RAW contract. Foley offers a handshake but the music hits and out comes Roman Reigns to a much more mixed reaction.

Reigns says Joe is out here talking tough and making threats. Reigns tells Joe to threaten him now that he’s out here. Reigns says they’ve never met. He formally introduces himself and says he’s the baddest man to step foot in WWE. The moment Joe signed his contract, he’s in Reigns’ yard. Reigns says Joe can either shut his mouth or get it caved in. Foley rants about how he’s still the General Manager and his loyalty is to the fans. Foley makes Joe vs. Reigns for tonight’s main event. Joe and Reigns face off as Stephanie gets in between them. Reigns’ music hits as Joe leaves first with Stephanie right beside him.

Samoa Joe vs. Roman Reigns

We go to the ring and out comes Roman Reigns for tonight’s main event. Reigns makes his way down the ramp when Samoa Joe attacks from behind. Joe beats Reigns to ringside and sends him into the barrier. Joe drops Reigns with a clothesline. Joe slams Reigns into the apron as the referee looks on from the ring. Joe continues the beatdown on Reigns and rolls into the ring to some boos.

Joe goes back outside and sends Reigns into the ring post. Joe with a senton on the floor. Joe re-enters the ring. The referee comes out to check on Reigns. Back to commercial.

Back from the break and Reigns is standing in the corner. The referee finally calls for the bell and here we go. Joe unloads and beats Reigns down in the corner. Joe keeps control and beats Reigns around with ease.

Reigns fights back and sends Joe outside. Reigns follows and launches Joe into the barrier. Reigns brings it back into the ring and goes to work on Joe in the corner. Joe turns it around in the opposite corner and drops Reigns with a kick. Reigns eats chops from Joe. Reigns fires right back with right hands. Joe cuts him off with an elbow. We are in Cleveland, Ohio and your announcers are Michael Cole, Byron Saxton, and Corey Graves.

Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring and he is joined in the ring by the shark cage.

Roman says in six days the Royal Rumble rolls through the Alamodome and more than 40,000 people will be going nuts.  In the middle of that storm will be Chris Jericho locked in that shark cage.  That means that he is one on one with Kevin Owens.  That means he will be holding the WWE Universal Championship over his head.

Kevin Owens’ music interrupts and he makes his way to the ramp with Best friend Chris Jericho.

Kevin asks Roman if he is okay because he sounds delusional.  Maybe there is something that happened that has confused you. Last week, he did something that Roman had coming for a long time.  For years, you have been power bombing people through that announce table.  From Seth Rollins, to Kane, to John Cena, to Daniel Bryan, and even the Undertaker.  How many can say they single handedly power bombed Roman Reigns through that table.  The answer to that question is ONE.  Only one, and Kevin says he is the one.

Roman says that Kevin is about to be the one who is about to get his ass whipped in front of the world and his best friend.

Chris says that Roman is making a lot of predictions and he asks if Roman is Nostradamus.  He says that Roman is a stupid idiot. Chris says it is a laugh for Roman that he will be hanging above the ring like a salami in a deli.  What was hilarious was him hitting a Codebreaker a few weeks ago to become the United States Champion.  Chris says that even though he will be hanging above the ring at the Royal Rumble, today is not Sunday and nothing is stopping him from knocking those chiclets down your throat and teaching you another lesson.

Roman wants to know if Chris was giving him a rematch.  He says that Chris should teach him a lesson and give him a rematch tonight.

Kevin says he has this.  You want a United States title rematch tonight?  You got it.  Kevin tells Chris he is going to beat him.  He tells Roman not to plan any post match celebrations because Kevin says he has a strong feeling, maybe a psychic vision, that Roman Reigns will be in that shark cage.

Roman says he has a feeling that he is going to win the United States Title in Cleveland and he will beat Kevin at the Royal Rumble for the Universal Title.  He says he is something that Kevin will never be . . . THE GUY.

We go to commercial.

We get a look back at tonight’s RAW opening segment. Still to come, Reigns vs. Jericho for the WWE United States Title.
