We go to the ring and out comes Roman Reigns to a mixed reactions.

Reigns stops and takes in all the noise. Reigns gives John Cena props as being one of the best talkers but says sometimes he says stupid shit, like that Reigns tries to be the next Cena. Reigns says he doesn’t look like a jacked up white guy with a buzzcut because if he did he wouldn’t have a career here. If you don’t believe him, ask Alex Riley. Reigns goes on and calls Cena the biggest hypocrite to step in a WWE ring and if you don’t believe him, Cena will tell you himself. Reigns shows us footage from February 2012 with Cena dissing The Rock for being a part-timer for Hollywood.

Reigns asks the crowd if we should bring Cena out. He tells them to get louder. He’s afraid that won’t be loud enough because Cena isn’t here tonight. Reigns says No Mercy will be just like that WrestleMania but it will be a different Samoan beating Cena. Reigns goes on and drops the mic after knocking Cena for being a movie star. Reigns greets some fans at ringside before making his way up the ramp.

Roman Reigns vs. Jason Jordan

Jason Jordan faced John Cena last week in a losing effort. Reigns rubbed it in Cena’s face that he couldn’t easily put a rookie like Jordan away.

Jordan extends his hand for a shake, but Reigns declines. The bell rings, and they circle the ring before locking up. John Cena is watching backstage. They give a clean break. Reigns gets a waistlock applied, but Jordan quickly gets out and goes for a takedown. Reigns doesn’t go down and instead connects with a pair of right hands. Reigns drives him into the corner twice. Jordan tries to fight back, but Reigns again backs him up with a punch. Reigns starts clubbing him in the corner, but Jordan quickly counters before connecting with a belly-to-belly overhead suplex. Jordan drives some shoulders into Reigns’ midsection before punching away at him. Jordan puts him in the corner and stomps him down. Jordan whips him hard into the corner before whipping him sternum-first into the corner. Jordan charges, but Reigns explodes out of the corner with a clothesline. Reigns gets him in the corner and hits ten clubs before hitting the ropes for a big boot. Reigns goes for a Superman Punch, but Jordan counters into a crossface. Reigns gets to the bottom rope and gets out of the ring.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Jordan fighting up to his feet. Jordan tries to fight back, but Reigns head-butts him down. John Cena is still watching backstage. Reigns whips him hard into the corner before hitting a snap suplex. Reigns applies a chin lock, but Jordan fights up and elbows out. Jordan hits the ropes, but Reigns floors him with a Samoan Drop for a near fall. Reigns then goes back to the chin lock. Jordan eventually fights up and powers Reigns to the corner. Reigns tries to boot him back, but Jordan counters and hits another belly-to-belly overheard suplex. They both take some time to fight up, and Reigns goes for a Samoan Drop, but Jordan slides off and sends him into the corner before hitting a clothesline for a two count.

They get to their feet and trade punches before Jordan hits a pair of forearms and a dropkick for a near fall. Jordan powers him to the corner and goes for a belly-to-belly, but Reigns punches out. Jordan ducks a clothesline and hits a snap back suplex for a two count. Jordan waits for Reigns to get up and hits a running shoulder thrust. Winner by Pinfall: Roman Reigns

After the match, Reigns recovers as his music hits and we see Cena backstage watching again. Reigns approaches Jordan in the corner and extends his hand for a shake. They shake and we get another look at Cena backstage. Charly Caruso approaches Cena for comments on the victory. Cena says he has something to say but he’s going to go say it to Reigns’ face. Reigns poses in the corner as we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

John Cena and Roman Reigns meet in the ring

Roman Reigns is in the ring waiting, and John Cena’s music hits. The crowd “serenades” him by singing, “John Cena sucks” to the theme of his music. Cena gets in the ring and holds up a microphone. Cena says it’s not a nightstick for his tactical pants. Cena is excited about what he’s going to say. Last week, Reigns was upset that rookie almost beat Cena. Now the rookie, Jason Jordan, almost beat “the guy.” Cena tells him to explain, but keep it to one sentence like, “It’s my yard.” Reigns says he was out here having a great match, something Cena knows nothing about. Reigns says he’s had more great matches in two years than Cena has had in his entire career. Cena loves it. Reigns makes it easy for him. Cena does have to stay sharp – he just has to let Reigns talk. Reigns is burying himself. It’s not to say that Reigns isn’t good. Reigns has skill and ability, but he’s got his head so far up his own ass that he’s like a one-man human centipede. Reigns actually thinks he runs this place and is responsible for the crowd. No one has ever cut Reigns down to size. That’s why he’s here. Cena has been accused of spinning things, but he challenges himself to try anything. Reigns thinks he’s already made it, but the second you think that is the beginning of the end. Cena says Reigns will learn what real failure is all about. Cena gets in his face and says week after week he lets Reigns take shot after shot, but he fails and fails. That is not what THE guy does. THE guy steps up, stays sharp, and does his homework, which is something Reigns should have done before he brought his sorry ass out here. If Reigns really is THE guy, he’ll dust himself off, stand up, and show him something at No Mercy. Cena says Reigns doesn’t have it in him. No Mercy will be a cakewalk.

Cena goes to leave, but Reigns tells him to bring his “bitch ass” back in here. Reigns says usually a superstar calls out John Cena to make a name for themselves, but Cena came here to RAW to call him out. Reigns thinks it’s because he’s selling the tickets Cena hasn’t sold in five years. Cena says Reigns isn’t doing his job, but ticket sales are great, revenue is sky high, and WWE can make it without him. WWE doesn’t need Cena. Cena needs WWE because he can’t break into Hollywood. Reigns says if Cena needs help, he knows a guy (meaning his cousin The Rock). Reigns tells Cena to do his big talk, but it means nothing because he can’t back it up. Cena says when people push you over the line, you have to fight fire with fire. Cena says at No Mercy, Reigns can consider it like a drug test – he’s not getting past him! Cena then walks off while the crowd gasps.

Later on we see Roman Reigns backstage watching the John Cena versus Braun Strowman match.

We see Reigns backstage watching again as Braun mocks Cena with the “you can’t see me” gesture. Charly Caruso approaches Reigns for comments on what just happened. Reigns says The Monster didn’t show Cena any mercy but neither will he. Reigns walks off as we go to replays as Braun continues to stand over Cena.

After the match, Cena stands tall as we go to replays. Cena stands tall and helps Jordan to his feet for a show of respect. Cena hits the corner to pose but the music interrupts and out comes Roman Reigns. Back to commercial.

Back from the break and Reigns is in the ring with Cena. Some fans are chanting Cena’s name. Reigns gets booed as he says he has one question for Cena – if he’s as good as he says he is, why does it take a 16-time champ over 20 minutes to beat a rookie? Reigns says if Cena is as good as he says he is, he would’ve defeated Jordan right away. Reigns goes on and gets the “what!?” treatment from the crowd. Reigns calls Cena a lying, fake ass little bitch. Cena calls Reigns a Debbie Downer and says he’s disgusted by Reigns’ whole face. Cena says Reigns is doing the worst thing a guy like him could try and do right now – use his brain. Cena goes on and points out how Reigns came out with his zipper down. Reigns says he actually busted the zipper because he’s a big dog. Cena says he was just looking for Reigns’ balls but he has none. Cena talks about how Reigns is going to lose at No Mercy.

Cena says the only question Reigns will have after No Mercy is how did this happen. Cena says Reigns is a conceited, know-it-all golden boy that needs to be taught about respect. Cena gives props to guys like Jordan, Chad Gable and The Miz for putting in work each week. He respects that. Cena says he does not respect Reigns. Cena doesn’t respect how Reigns walks down here and calls Cena a fake bitch. The only person living a lie here is Reigns. Cena goes on and wonders if Reigns can see what’s going on here, or does he need to beat some sense into Reigns. Reigns says now they’re talking. He tells Cena to do it, bring it. Fans cheer and a “yes!” chant starts up. Reigns tells Cena to do it right now. Reigns asks if fans want to see Cena beat his ass and they do.

Reigns taunts Cena and says this is Cena’s moment to finally back up his big mouth. Just like Reigns thought, Cena is all talk and that’s why he doesn’t respect Cena. Reigns drops the mic and leaves the ring as his music hits. Cena stares him down with a smirk on his face.

Back from the break and RAW General Manager Kurt Angle is in the ring for a contract signing. He’s here to make official the big match that was announced on WWE’s website earlier today. Angle calls out John Cena to the ring.

Cena says this match is WrestleMania worthy but Angle is ready to get it done now. Cena says this is why he came to RAW, to step in the ring with The Big Dog. Cena says Reigns hasn’t been just the blue chip prospect, he’s been the blue chip prospect that’s been protected against anyone in his path. Cena talks about himself and how there’s no protection there. Cena says he wants to fight Reigns because he knows Reigns doesn’t want to fight him. The music interrupts and out comes Reigns to some boos.

Reigns wants to get this straight – he’s scared to fight Cena? Reigns wonders if that’s what is in Cena’s head. Reigns says Cena probably won’t understand this because no one has ever said this to him but Cena is not as big of a deal as he thinks he is. Reigns says he’s done something Cena will never be able to do – he retired The Undertaker at WrestleMania. Reigns says maybe he just doesn’t need to fight Cena. Cena ends up calling Reigns a corporate Cena bootleg. Cena says Reigns isn’t the guy, he’s just a guy… a guy trying desperately to fill shoes he never will. Cena says listen carefully young man… he’s not The Undertaker, he’s not a battered veteran with a bad hip at the end of his career. Cena is the fastest and strongest he’s ever been. Cena says Reigns knows if he signs that contract, his Roman Empire… can’t see me. Reigns comes back and says fans don’t boo Cena because they want him to be a bad guy, they boo him because he sucks. Cena makes a joke about Angle getting the “you suck” chants and Reigns tells him to shut up. Reigns looks to be searching for words and Cena disses him. Reigns tells him to shut up again. Reigns ends up calling Cena a fake bitch. A part timing, fake bitch.

Reigns goes on about Cena being a part-timer and how he buries younger talents. Reigns says that’s how Cena stays on top of the mountain. Reigns calls him a backstabbing shark. Reigns says what bothers Cena is that he can’t bury Reigns, he can’t touch him. Reigns says he’s the one guy in WWE who Cena can’t see. Reigns asks why he would want to lessen himself, his bloodline and his legacy to be the next John Cena when he could be the one and only Roman Reigns.

Cena says Reigns is a fool, a damn fool. Cena says Reigns of all people comes down to the ring and uses the same poor excuse that the others in front of him have done. Reigns, with all his abilities, has the gall to blame Cena. Cena congratulates Reigns, saying it took him 5 years to cut a half-decent promo but now Cena is about to cut him down to size. Cena says everyone thinks he has a magical golden shovel. Cena can’t tell if Reigns is blind or stupid. Cena says the fans have always held the keys and always will. Cena goes on, mentioning how he won the United States Title and used it to help guys like AJ Styles and Kevin Owens. He says Reigns took the US Title as a demotion. Cena says he’s still here because Reigns can’t do his job.

Cena goes on and says Reigns should be ashamed because he can do this better part time than Reigns could ever do it full time. Cena drops the mic and the crowd gets riled up with him. Cena has signed the contract. Reigns signs the contract and Cena loves it. Reigns flips the table over and they face off. The music interrupts and out comes Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. They talk about the egos in the ring, calling both men “not a good brother.” They believe Cena and Reigns need to be taught a lesson by a couple of good brothers. They’re headed to the ring to beat up a few nerds. Angle makes a tag match for right now. We go to commercial

John Cena and Roman Reigns vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

Back from the break and Gallows is going at it with Cena. Cena turns it around and calls for a Five Knuckle Shuffle, showing off while Reigns mocks him. We go to the ring and RAW General Manager Kurt Angle is out with a bunch of security, who are on the outside of the ring. Angle starts talking about tonight’s “Face to Face to Face to Face” before introducing WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar first. Lesnar marches out with Paul Heyman, who does the grand introduction for his client. Heyman says WWE and their RAW GM have conspired to hold this segment tonight to try and get one more rating out of The Beast before SummerSlam. Heyman says the Fatal 4 Way on Sunday is a prison fight. Heyman isn’t worried about the security at ringside. He says Lesnar’s bad mood is justified. He says WWE is conspiring against Lesnar because Lesnar has decided to listen to other things outside of WWE, a reference to his potential UFC return it appears. Heyman talks about how Lesnar can lose the title without getting pinned on Sunday and says he’s a fan, and as a fan – that sucks. Heyman goes on and mentions each of Lesnar’s opponents, and gives them props but puts over Lesnar above them.

Heyman goes on and says he never makes predictions, he just delivers spoilers. One of two things happen on Sunday – the conspiracy is successful and WWE rips the title off Lesnar, Lesnar and Heyman leave WWE. And if that is the case, Heyman assures us that we might as well lock The Beast up in a cage. Hint, hint. Then there’s scenario 2 – Lesnar wins the match and proves to the entire world what Heyman has known the whole time, that 15 years of him flapping his gums has just been underselling Lesnar’s greatness. Heyman says that’s his case for us to subscribe to the WWE Network and watch SummerSlam on Sunday. The music hits next and out comes Samoa Joe.

Joe hits the ring and takes a mic, reminding Lesnar that he doesn’t fear him. Lesnar smirks. Joe says he’s coming for the title at SummerSlam but he’s coming to rip it out of Heyman’s hands after he puts Lesnar to sleep. The music interrupts and out comes Braun Strowman now. Braun declares that he’s always the last man standing, in case we didn’t know. Braun says to ask Roman Reigns. Joe refreshes Braun’s memory and reminds him how he won last week’s match. Joe says Braun is barely a man that stood up while Joe put Reigns down, not a last man standing. The music interrupts again and out comes Reigns to a mixed reaction.

Reigns marches to the ring and immediately spears Joe. Braun comes from behind and scoops Reigns for a big powerslam. Braun kicks Reigns under the bottom rope to the floor. Braun slowly turns around and stares at Lesnar. They look to go at it but security rushes the ring and separates them in opposite corners. Lesnar breaks free but he’s pulled right back to the corner. Braun gets free but they pull him back as well. Lesnar kicks a security guard away and tangles with the others. Lesnar and Braun start taking out security now. Angle looks concerned. Braun and Lesnar face off with no security now. The RAW locker room runs down and separates them as they start going at it again. Braun and Lesnar yell at each other while Superstars hold them back. Reigns and Joe are still out of the ring. Lesnar breaks free and leaps onto Braun and a bunch of Superstars. The brawl continues but they’re quickly pulled apart again. The final RAW before SummerSlam goes off the air with the locker room holding Lesnar and Braun back from each other.
