Jojo interviewed Roman Reigns about the main event. She asked whether his relationship with Dean Ambrose would ever be the same again after tonight. He said the WWE wouldn’t be the same after tonight. He said a lot of things would change after tonight. Dean showed up and agreed saying that only one of them is going to be on the road to Wrestlemania. Dean said the other one is going to be watching. Dean said he’s hitchhiked enough and wants to see what life is like in the Fast Lane. Roman said not to book that trip. Dean said he got a great deal on Priceline. Ugh. Awful. No one speaks this way. They agreed Brock was something they were going to have to deal with and then they would deal with each other.

WWE World Heavyweight championship match at Wrestlemania 32: Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman) vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Roman Reigns.

Lesnar went right after Ambrose and rammed him into the buckles. Reigns (who was booed upon entering) attacked Brock but ate a German suplex. Ambrose returned but was quickly displaced from the ring. Lesnar nailed another German suplex on Reigns. He was going for a third but Ambrose nailed him with a missile dropkick from behind. Lesnar nailed several shots. Ambrose got behind and went for a German but Brock broke free and sent him sailing with a belly to belly overhead suplex. Very physical early.

Brock went to the floor to go after Roman. Dean went for a dive to the floor but was caught and nailed with a suplex on the floor. It’s all Lesnar so far. Lesnar nailed another German suplex on Reigns. Lesnar nailed another. He picked up Reigns and nailed an F5 but Ambrose broke up the pinfall. Lesnar looked at him as if he was crazy for messing with Brock.

Ambrose slapped him so Lesnar lost it and drilled him with knees and suplexed him across the ring. He began drilling Dean with knees and suplexed him again. Lesnar nailed another one. Dean tried to crawl away but was powered up and suplexed over again. Lesnar went for an F5 but Reigns speared him for a close two count. They shot the sequence in a way that made it seem Roman came out of nowhere to make it a bigger shock. Nice.

Roman nailed the Superman Punch but Lesnar rolled out of the ring from the force of the move. Roman charged across the floor and leapt off the stairs but Lesnar caught him on his shoulders. The best laid plans of mice and men, indeed. He went for a F5 onto the announcer’s table but Ambrose nailed a low blow. Dean ripped apart the announcers’ table and they set up for the old Shield powerbomb through a table. The crowd loved that.

Dean and Ambrose had words and Dean kicked him and threw Roman into the stairs. He tossed Roman into the ring and attacked him and nailed a running bulldog. Ambrose went to the top and nailed a flying elbow for a two count. Roman came back with several rights. Dean fired back with shots of his own. They brawled in the center of the ring. Dean nailed the McGuinnness rebound lariat as Lesnar returned to his senses on the floor.

Roman and Dean both realize Lesnar is stirring so they give up their battle and go back to attacking him, sending him through the barricade. They begin to clear off another announcing table. They do the Shield powerbomb on Brock again. They buried Brock in the remnants of the tables.

Roman then drilled Dean with a right hand, giving him a receipt from earlier. They returned to the ring, only this time Roman was working all over him. Roman used a roll-through into a powerbomb but Dean escaped with a series of elbows. He came off the top but ended up on the wrong end of a Superman Punch. He went for a spear but was kneed in the face. He went for a charge in the corner but Dean moved and Roman hit the ringpost. Ambrose nailed Dirty Deeds and scored a CLOSE two count.

Both men were down and Dean pointed at the Wrestlemania sign. The crowd chanted, “This is awesome.” He went fo Dirty Deeds again but Roman pulled him up for a Samoan Drop. Lesnar hit the ring and nailed a German suplex on Roman, who was holding Dean. Pretty wild stuff.

Roman speared Lesnar but was trapped in the Kimura. Roman fought to his feet and stood up but was still trapped. Ambrose returned with a chair and beat the hell out of Lesnar’s back with it, then turned to Roman and began beating him with the chair as well. He ran Lesnar out of the ring but Roman speared him and scored the pin.

Your winner, Roman Reigns!

A hell of a physical main event with all sorts of great brawling, spots and near falls. This was truly a main event as it was the best thing on the show and the crowd was into everything and everyone involved. Dean Ambrose absolutely took a big step forward with his fearlessness against Lesnar and his willingness to attack his “brother” Roman. The crowd loved him tonight and I hope WWE realizes that.

Triple H came out in his suit wearing the WWE championship belt over his shoulder. They faced off in the ring to close the show.

For 28 years, Superstars have become legends and unforgettable moments have been etched in time as every competitor one day hopes to be in the main event of WrestleMania and that path to stardom begins at the Royal Rumble as the 29th annual WWE Royal Rumble came to you, live on the WWE Network, from the Amway Center in Orlando, FL. Throughout a nearly thirty-year tenure, WWE’s “Big Four” mainstay has produced some of the biggest Superstars and most memorable moments in WWE history from the winner of the first ever Royal Rumble Match, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, to last year’s Rumble winner, Roman Reigns, bolstering such names as Bret “The Hitman” Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Triple H, Batista, Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, Edge, John Cena, and three-time winner Stone Cold Steve Austin as those who have paved their own road to greatness on the grand stage of WrestleMania.

However, this year’s Royal Rumble Match would be much different than what the aforementioned gladiators had to go through as this year’s 30-man melee would be contested for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as, for the first time in history, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be an official participant in the Royal Rumble Match with his championship being placed on the line. As if this did not stack the deck enough against reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion and last year’s Rumble winner Roman Reigns, the proud champion would be forced to enter the match as the #1 entrant, meaning that Roman will have to outlast 29 other Superstars to hang onto the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Roman Reigns will face bigger odds than any champion that has come before him as Reigns will have to contend with the likes of nine-time former World Champion and Royal Rumble Match veteran Chris Jericho, the entirety of the dominant, unforgiving, and seemingly unstoppable Wyatt Family, “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show, and the man who Roman Reigns collided with at last year’s WrestleMania, “The Beast” Brock Lesnar!

Those aforementioned names are just the Superstars that Roman Reigns will know he will have to contend with as, in what has become a Royal Rumble tradition, there could be any number of surprise entrants into this year’s Royal Rumble Match. While it definitely appears to be a “One Versus All” situation for the champion, one cannot forget that the Royal Rumble Match is every man for himself and only one Superstar can walk out as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, meaning that alliances are fragile and a Superstar could betray a friend or a family member at any given time, all in the name of the top prize in WWE, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Who will win this year’s Royal Rumble Match and who will walk out as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion? Can Roman Reigns continue to do what he has done?

Backstage, Dean Ambrose was warming up.  Roman Reigns walked in.  Dean said he was looking for him.  Roman said he was coming from seeing the Usos and they said it’s up to them to do it for the family.  Roman said he can’t wait to be on the top of the ladder getting the belt back and breaking his knuckles on Sheamus’ face.  He said that tonight, win lose or draw is about making a statement.  Dean said he has a vision of them as the champions at the end of the night and then having an amazing after-party.

WWE World Heavyweight champion Sheamus vs. Roman Reigns

Sheamus charged and Reigns drilled him with a right hand in a takeoff of the Connor McGregor UFC KO.  A “We want Cena/Cena Sucks” back and forth chant started.  The announcers have to ignore that obviously.    They went back and forth with some really physical stuff and brawld to the floor.  Roman backdropped him into the timekeeper’s area.  Sheamus charged out of there and attacked Roman.  Some nice intensity early on.

Roman was bridging a ladder between the apron and the table.  Sheamus flung a chair across his back and then nailed him with another.   Roman returned to the ring.  Sheamus followed, sliding a table in as well.   Roman nailed him with a clothesline that sent them both over the top to the floor.  He sent Sheamus into a ladder, nearly wiping out a cameraman.  He dragged Sheamus to the aisle and tossed him into furniture that was set up as set decoration a number of times.

Roman went for a suplex but Sheamus backdropped him through a table.  Sheamus returned to the ringside area and brought a ladder into the ring, hoping to retrieve his championship belt. Roman returned and they returned to the floor battling.  Roman went for the apron dropkick but was clotheslined in mid-flight.  Sheamus beat him with a chair.  He nailed White Noise through a table on the floor.

Sheamus returned to the ring but Roman tried to follow.  Sheamus beat him with a ladder and then went for a move but Roman caught him and deadlifted him into a powerbomb on a ladder.   Sheamus recovered but was nailed with a flying clothesline.  Roman charged and dove off the ringsteps, drilling Sheamus with a chair.  This is a stiff, physical match and I am loving it.

Roman set up for the Superman Punch but was caught and nailed with the Irish Curse.  A pretty loud NXT chant rang out in the hallowed halls of Boston.  Sheamus battered Roman across the chest with punches  Roman pulled Sheamus on his shoulders and fell backwards, smashing the ladder that was bridged across the apron and the announcer’s table in half.

Roman recovered first and set up the ladder.  He made it to the top but Sheamus pulled him down.  Roman pulled him down from the ladder and climbed up.  Sheamus attacked him with shots to the back and tried to powerbomb him off the ladder, but Reigns slipped out and nailed a Superman Punch.  He climbed to the top of the ladder but Sheamus pulled it down  and Reigns crashed rudely to the mat.

Sheamus went to the top and grabbed the belt but before he could unhook it, Roman charged up the ladder and nailed a Superman Punch.  Sheamus crashed through the table below.  Roman went to the top for the belt but Alberto Del Rio and Rusev attacked Roman.  Roman was pulled to the outside and put in the Accolade.  He broke free and nailed Rusev and ADR with Superman Punches.

Roman pulled Sheamus down off the ladder but was drilled with a Brogue Kick.  Reigns was sent to the floor.  Sheamus was shocked to see him return but before Reigns could do anything, Sheamus had pulled the belt down.

Your winner and still WWE World Heavyweight champion, Sheamus!

A stiff, physical main event that may have been the best performance for either man in a long time.

The League of Nations had Sheamus on their shoulders after. Roman speared them and then grabbed a chair and began beating the hell out of all of them to close the PPV.

Triple H and Stephanie came out with a horde of referees but he wouldn’t stop. The crowd got behind him, chanting his name. HHH got on the apron trying to calm Reigns down. He got into the ring to help Sheamus and you could guess what was coming next.

HHH asked him what was the matter with him and told him that he lost. Reigns looked down at the chair he had on the mat the Superman Punched HHH. He attacked HHH with the chair and began beating the hell out of him. HHH rolled out of the ring. Reigns went for the Spanish Announcer’s table and prepared it for carnage. He slammed HHH’s head into the table and drilled him with a right hand. Roman powerbombed HHH on the table, which did not break. He went on the other table and dropped an elbow, which did crush HHH through the table. Roman said he knows he’s going to be fired but it doesn’t matter now.

They had Stephanie over HHH concerned as officials and EMTs checked on him. The crowd chanted, “Thank you Roman” which is a hell of a lot better than the “We want Cena” he got at the start of the main event.

HHH was being walked out when Roman charged and speared him. Stephanie swore Roman was going to pay for this. Roman walked away and said, “Something’s going to change now” and posed for the crowd.
