Before getting to Renee and company we start with Cole, Booker, and Corey covering the end to Braun/Reigns. They show Reigns leaving through the back as he is coughing up blood. He is being helped by officials as they show how the match ended and Braun’s post match beat down.

They go back to Reigns as he is trying to get into an ambulance and we hear “I’m not finished with you” as Braun charges. Reigns moves though and Braun charges through the ambulance door, taking it off the hinges. Reigns recovers enough to slam the other door on Bran which causes him to leave. Reigns struggles to his feet with blood in his mouth as Cole throws it to Renee and Lawler.

Renee Young and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to the show and talk about the ending of Owens/Goldberg. They bring on the first guest, Roman Reigns.

Reigns joins the crew. He says he’s a bit beat up, King cracks a joke, and Reigns talks about his win over the previously undefeated Braun Strowman. Reigns counts his experience getting him the upper hand after being in the ring with some of the best stars in the business. Reigns thought the first spear would finish off Strowman. He puts over Strowman with he likes of Big Show and Brock Lesnar when it comes to size and power. He said he capitalized on Strowman’s top rope mistake. King points out that Reigns says “this is my yard.” He makes a comparison between dogs, raccoons, and Undertakers. Reigns applauds the analogy and says he’s the bar setter to get the company to the point it’s at. He says he is going to get some rest tonight and get ready for whatever the next battle is, no matter who it is.

Roman Reigns is the first guest on Raw Talk. Renee Young asks Roman if he’s OK and able to sit. Roman replies that he’s beat up but OK. Roman then goes on to say how proud he is of not only the women, but the whole show as a brand. He thanks Boston for showing out for the PPV.

Roman then goes on to talk about his match with Rusev. He said after a fight, it’s always about respect. Rusev threw him around like a rag doll sometimes. He brought so much physicality. But he kept fighting through the challenge.

King asked Roman if the feud between he & Rusev was over? Roman said he’s ready to move on. He feels as though tonight was a statement. He is the guy. Anybody that wants some can come get it.

Booker asked Roman about the booing phase and what was his game plan for instance at mania when it was at its loudest. Roman said the keyword is loudest. It didn’t matter how loud it got, whose feathers he ruffled. He is the guy, Roman Reigns.

He goes on to say he has two shoulders. He got one strap, there’s room for another.
King says so are you saying you can do what Seth Rollins couldn’t?
Roman says there’s a reason why Seth is his little brother. Roman says he was always the big dawg of the shield. This is still his yard.

Renee asks what’s different between he & Seth going after the Universal Championship? For Roman it has always been one versus all. He’s been there before, whereas Seth hasn’t he’s always had people holding him down.

He says if he runs into Seth, he’ll get the revenge he’s never gotten.

If anyone on the roster could take on Owens/Jericho it would be him.

Extreme Rules: WWE World Heavyweight champion Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles

Styles tried to take down Roman and Reigns warded him off using his strength. Styles worked him over in the corner with right hands but was shoved down. The crowd went nuts anytime Styles was on offense. Reigns nailed a big knee that sent Styles rolling to the floor. The crowd chanted “RO-MAN SUCKS” to The “New Day Rocks” beat. The crowd is really loving giving Roman crap.

Roman went to the floor and got a chair and the crowd booed the hell out of him for it. He brought it into the ring but Styles avoided being hit and went to the floor. Styles tried to pull Roman out of the ring to the floor but was kicked into the barricade. Roman tried to nail AJ with a chair but missed and hit the ring steps. Styles took advantage and worked over Reigns on the floor near the German announcers’ table and hit a clothesline into it. Styles began setting up the primary announcers’ table and then clotheslined Roman over the barricade into the crowd.

They battled in the crowd and brawled away from the ring and the stage. Styles was whipped into a back wall but grabbed a chair and nailed him in the gut. They battled into the Kickoff panel set. Roman was smacked facefirst into the table. Styles was hiptossed onto the table. The crowd chanted, “Roman sucks.” Reigns went to grab AJ but he was kicked hard in the head. Styles dove off the table and nailed the Phenomenal forearm.

Styles sent Roman into a wall as they battled back towards the ring. They battled into the timekeeper’s area. Styles removed padding from part of the barricade and sent Roman into it. Styles then removed the padding at ringside and teased a Styles Clash on the floor. Roman slipped out and nailed a big right hand. They battled to the German announcers’ table. Styles tried for the Styles Clash but Reigns escaped and nailed a right hand, sending AJ crashing into the crowd.

Styles returned and charged but was backdropped off the German table and through the primary announcing table, in an awesome looking bump. The crowd chanted, “You still suck” at Roman. Reigns brought Styles back into the ring and covered him but Styles kicked out at the last minute. Roman muscled Styles up and nailed a sitdown Razor’s Edge but Styles kicked up at the last second. It looked awesome. The crowd chanted, “You still suck” again.

Roman called for the Superman Punch but Styles tackled his legs. Reigns began grabbing at his knee. Styles began working over his knee and nailed a suplex into the corner. Roman was having a hard time standing and the announcers wondered if this was the turning point of the match. Styles went for a dive off the apron to the floor but Styles caught him and in a powerbomb position, slammed him into the barricade and the digital board on the ring apron before being powerbombed in spectacular fashion through another announcing table.

Reigns waited for Styles to recover and called for a spear. Styles escaped it and Reigns sent himself through the barricade. The crowd chanted “Thank you Styles.” The fans started dueling chants for the competitors. Styles brought him into the ring and went for the Phenomenal Forearm but Reigns drilled him with the Superman Punch and Styles crashed hard to the floor outside. The referee checked on him and the announcers said Styles’ eyes rolled to the back of his head and was out. Styles made it to his feet and Styles speared him on the floor.

Roman tossed Styles back into the ring but Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attacked the champ and nailed the Boot of Doom. They placed Styles on top but Reigns got his shoulder up at the last second. The Usos hit the ring to even the odds and nailed superkicks on The Club, even Styles. They placed Roman on top and Styles kicked up. Great stuff.

Gallows and Anderson brawled at ringside with the Usos. Anderson hit the ring as did Gallows but Reigns nailed Superman Punches. Roman called for the spear but Styles kicked him and went for the Styles Clash. He nailed it and covered Roman, who kicked up at the last second. Styles, not knowing what to do, grabbed a steel chair and placed it in the center of the ring. He went for the Styles Clash on it but Roman backdropped him on it. Roman went for a spear but was nailed with a Pele Kick. He nailed a Styles Clash on the chair but one of the Usos tried to pull Styles out of the ring. He kicked him off and covered Roman but it was enough to give Roman a chance to recover and kick up at two.

Styles grabbed the chair and began beating the hell out of the Usos and Roman with the chair. He tossed the chair out of the ring and set up for the Phenomenal Forearm. Roman speared him in mid-air and scored the pin.

Your winner and still WWE World Heavyweight champion, Roman Reigns!

After the match, Seth Rollins hit the ring and nailed Roman with a Pedigree. He brandishes the WWE World Heavyweight championship belt and held it above his head to a massive pop. The went off the air saying it was the “Wrath of Rollins.”

This week’s WWE interview segment on SportsCenter featured Roman Reigns for the second time.

Before the interview, ESPNews rolled a WWE hype package for the Big Three matches at Extreme Rules – A.J. Styles challenging Reigns for the WWE Title, Chris Jericho vs. Dean Ambrose in an Asylum cage match, and Charlotte vs. Natalya for the Women’s Title.

Coach asked Reigns what he thinks about facing Styles for the second time at Extreme Rules. Reigns said he has a lot of respect for Styles wrestling all over the world “competing against some of the greatest talent in the world for a bunch of different promotions.” But, Reigns said, now Styles is with “the company, WWE.” And, since they’re on SportsCenter, Reigns joked that it’s not going to work between them since Styles is about the Georgia Bulldogs and he played for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Reigns was asked how he’s handling being the top champion with everyone looking at him on a nightly basis. Reigns said he comes to work ready to go 52 weeks per year, he’s excited about the responsibility, and having his family on the road with him is a big help.

Asked how the influx of NXT talent to the main roster has affected things, Reigns said it’s created a completely different locker room environment. Reigns said when The Shield came in four years ago, it was a bunch of “old dogs” in the locker room. Now, he feels like it’s his locker room and his arena. Reigns welcomed everyone from NXT to come join what he’s leading on the main roster.

As for advice he would give to upcoming stars, Reigns said, “Believe in yourself.” He said there are so many different platforms now for people to “run their mouth,” which could be a distraction from not believing in what you’re doing.

Reigns talked about being in the main event of WrestleMania for the second straight year. He said it was a blessing to be in that position. Asked what it was like being in the ring with Brock Lesnar last year and Triple H this year, Reigns said it’s dealing with two different approaches. He credited Lesnar for being one of the only wrestlers on the roster more powerful than himself in the ring, while Hunter is more cerebral.
