At WWE No Mercy, John Cena will battle Roman Reigns for the first time in what is sure to be a knock-down, drag-out, WrestleMania-worthy main event.

As the hottest free-agent in WWE, Cena made a surprise leap from SmackDown LIVE over to the Aug. 21 edition of Money Night Raw for one reason: to stand toe-to-toe with Reigns. This was a challenge The Big Dog welcomed, as Reigns was eager to show the 16-time World Champion just how much the yard had changed since The Leader of the Cenation last competed on Team Red.

The following week, the match that may prove to be one of the greatest of 2017 was announced for the Sept. 24 pay-per-view in a WWE.com Exclusive video. Cena and Reigns will make the match official tonight on Raw.

It’s a showdown that has been a long time coming, and there is no denying Cena and Reigns are two of the top competitors in the squared circle today. Not only are they extremely hard-hitting and armed with a powerful arsenal, but neither is likely to yield to even the toughest of adversaries under any circumstances. Thus, the stage is set for a truly explosive collision between two irresistible forces.

Furthermore, Cena and Reigns are arguably the two most polarizing Superstars in the history of WWE, a fact that leaves many fans intrigued to see how the WWE Universe is going to react and what kind of an atmosphere they will set for the titanic clash.

Brace yourself for the iconic bout between John Cena and Roman Reigns at WWE No Mercy, Sunday, Sept. 24, at 8 ET/5 PT, streaming live on WWE Network.

The latest chapter in the extremely volatile rivalry between Reigns and Strowman carries enormous implications for The Big Dog. Reigns has officially staked his claim that Raw is his yard, a notion that could have a tremendous long-term impact on WWE.

Reigns has backed up his talk with a tremendous history of taking on anyone put in front of him while constantly refusing to hide behind the likes of The Authority or any other force that could provide him an easier rise to the top. In April, he earned the rare distinction of overcoming The Undertaker at WrestleMania, which propelled his career to even greater heights. Reigns has clearly proven himself a force to be reckoned with, capable of carrying WWE on his back week-in and week-out. Looking to continue his meteoric rise to the top of the red brand, the three-time WWE Champion has already challenged the winner of the Universal Championship Match between Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe to a title bout at SummerSlam.

However, despite heroic strides, Reigns is likely well-aware that a second pay-per-view loss to a dangerous competitor like Strowman could seriously threaten his championship aspirations, making it a safe bet that The Guy will pull out all the stops to keep that from happening. But will it be enough?

The match also carries significant ramifications for Strowman, the personification of destruction. Prior to crossing paths with Reigns, Strowman was already running wild and attacking Superstars if he didn’t get his way.

His brutal attack on The Big Dog in April — in which he turned over an ambulance with the three-time WWE Champion inside – showed just how far he was willing to go to eliminate the competition. And his victory over Reigns at WWE Payback was punctuated by The Monster Among Men ruthlessly driving the steel steps into his rival’s midsection in an unforgettable and horrifying moment. Now the ferocious Superstar will be out to take full advantage of the chaotic environment of an Ambulance Match, likely with the intent of making Reigns suffer so bad that he won’t be able to compete for the Universal Title.

A loss by Reigns could change everything. If Strowman produces another dominant showing, it’s possible that he could leapfrog his adversary in the Universal Title picture. If the massive competitor once again defeats The Big Dog, he could approach Raw General Manager Kurt Angle the following night on Raw with a legitimate claim to challenge whoever the titleholder is at SummerSlam. And if he were to be granted that right amd went on to capture the championship, Strowman’s reign of uncontrollable mayhem could reach even scarier heights. The level of brutality that would follow with Strowman on the top of the mountain could threaten the very order of Monday Night Raw and all of WWE.

The importance of this match at the first-ever WWE Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view is heightened given that it is a highly-personal showdown, containing a stipulation that completely throws the rulebook out the window. With all eyes on this inaugural event and the gloves off, it’s safe to say that both Superstars will be at their most vicious, and their combined intensity may result in lasting harm to one another and anyone else who gets in their way.

Don’t miss what promises to be a chaotic brawl at WWE Great Balls of Fire on Sunday, July 9 at 8 ET/5 PT, streaming live on WWE Network.

Who will be the first Superstar to challenge The Beast? This is a question that will be answered in historically chaotic fashion.

At WWE Extreme Rules, for the first time ever, in a battle that could change the course of the New Era, an Extreme Rules Fatal 5-Way Match between Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Finn Bálor, Bray Wyatt and Samoa Joe to determine who will compete with Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.

Raw General Manager Kurt Angle announced the historic showdown on the May 15 edition of Monday Night Raw, and speculation is already running rampant as to who will emerge victorious and get the chance to tangle with The Beast for Raw’s top prize.

Though Reigns’ unbreakable determination helped him overcome The Undertaker at WrestleMania and put Braun Strowman on the shelf for six months, it remains to be seen whether The Big Dog will be able to simultaneously conquer four of the best Superstars in the business under such extreme circumstances.

In addition to the absolute bedlam that such a showdown promises, Rollins and Samoa Joe will both need to get past the enormous animosity that they have for one another in order to concentrate on the entire field of battle in this epic free-for-all.

Lest we forget that the first Universal Champion, Bálor, was never beaten for his title, but was instead forced to surrender it due to injury and is now hungry for an opportunity to challenge The Beast Incarnate.

And one must never count out Wyatt, arguably one of the most cunning competitors in the contest, who continues to show time and time again why he is The New Face of Fear by thriving in the very mayhem that the Fatal 5-Way Match will unleash.

Who will triumph in the Fatal 5-Way Match and become the first Superstar to attempt to conquer The Conqueror? Find out tonight at 8 ET/5 PT, steaming live on WWE Network.
